Acinonyx jubatus

Here is a cheetah for my tía Yansci, who can go nearly as fast as one on her four-wheeler. We’ve lost about 90 percent of our cheetahs over the last century. And did you know that lions and hyenas prey on cheetah cubs?

  1. Wow! This one turned out GREAT!

You can FEEL the intensity of the cheetah’s stare as he’s slowly stalking his prey. Look at the shoulders — you can see those slow, long strides he takes while sneaking up on his victim, just before he pounces!

This one’s a real winner, Jennifer! Nicely done!

  2. Thank you, Ted! Those are the nicest compliments!
